A change of direction recently has seen me close Oriel Haywire my gallery on Llandysul High St and reinvent the way I work – again. The world is in a huge mess to say the least but that is when artists are most needed I reckon. Reminders of what life can be like, that not everyone is hate filled as the media bias suggests, there is still hope and it may be time to stick our heads above the bunker to show this.

A rejig of my website has forced me to ask questions, who for, what and why do I paint? Boiled down that’s colour, humour,  glimpses of your best times be that childhood den building or memories of this Summer’s hazy beach holidays. I spent too long sat in grey drab office blocks in my 20’s, living for debauched weekends to offset the dread of a Monday morning. So I think my colourful canvases as one customer said are ‘hits of dopamine on your wall – reminders to stop, breathe and reset.’

My home workshop revamp is not quite finished and not really painting for the last 4 months has me climbing the walls – lots of ideas, new collections being planned but my paints are still in storage. Bet I get artists block as soon as I’m sat in front of my next blank canvas….
