Cynical Cindy cried ‘We’ll all be dead by Christmas’- as she cashed in her coupons… Framed Original..

£225.00

Original painting of Cynical Cindy one of my Owd Lasses. Title tag on bottom of frame reads ‘Cynical Cindy cried ”We’ll all be dead by Christmas” – as she cashed in her coupons…
The acrylic on canvas is framed in a hand painted grey/green floating, chunky frame which measures 19.5 cms square and is strung and ready to hang on the wall.
The original painting comes in a grey gift box with a magnetic clasp, wrapped in tissue and bubble wrap to make it suitable to give straight away as a gift.
The Owd Lasses are poignant, vignettes celebrating these strong sassy characters, the glamour pusses of a bygone time, now overlooked but always with a story to tell.
Each character has a back story which comes printed on card with the painting.
This is Cindy’s:-
Cindy was a seamstress in her youth and worked up the Big House until all the scandal came out – it wasn’t all one sided you know, he promised her things…After that she went to work with her sisters in the factory, it was noisy and she didn’t enjoy it much (wasn’t centre of attention any more).
In a bid to live the highlife she felt entitled to, Cindy started collecting coupons, doing competitions and later the scratch cards. She had a couple of big wins. The caravan holiday in Minehead was a hoot, that’s where she met big Jim.
Jim’s long gone now and Cindy lives a quiet life still collecting her coupons and dreaming of what might have been…

Studio Visits

My studio is open by appointment, offering a relaxed chance to see the work up close, talk through ideas, and spend time with the paintings in the space they’re made. Visitors are welcome to browse finished pieces, view works in progress, and ask questions — no pressure, no white gloves, just an honest look at the process behind the work. If you’re considering a particular painting or commission, a studio visit allows time to connect with the story, the colour, the humour and the detail that doesn’t always come through on a screen. Expect conversation, a cuppa, might stretch to a custard cream and a bit of a gossip but always a very warm welcome.

Studio visits are designed to feel comfortable and welcoming — especially if you’ve never visited an artist’s studio before.
